User snippets

💡 Eluve Snippets help clinicians speed up documentation by allowing quick insertion of commonly used content into a note, using a slash command. Whether it's a part of a sentence you always start a chart section with, billing codes, or frequently typed phrases, snippets help you document faster and more consistently.

What Are Snippets?

Snippets are saved blocks of rich text that can be inserted into your documentation using the / command. Think of them like personalized templates that are always at your fingertips. Your snippets are saved to your account and available wherever you use Eluve.

Examples of snippets:

  • “Patient presented to the clinic with...”

  • “97110 - 60-Minute Therapeutic Exercise”

  • “Follow-up instructions for shoulder rehab...”

How to use Snippets

Create Snippet from Highlighted Text

Select any text while editing a note and instantly save it as a snippet for future reuse.

Use Slash Command to Insert Snippets

Type / in any Eluve rich text field to open the command menu. You can scroll to see a list of Snippets, or start typing the name of a snippet to filter the list. Click a snippet to insert it.

Manage Your Snippets

Create, edit, and delete your snippets from Settings → Manage Snippets.

Each snippet includes:

  • A title (e.g., “Discharge Note”)

  • A content body in rich text

Bulk Import & Export

Import snippets from a JSON file exported from Eluve or Jane.

You can import snippets from another system, such as Jane. Eluve will display which entries couldn’t be imported and why. All valid snippets will still be added successfully.

Export your existing snippet list to JSON to reuse or share.

🛠 Tips & Best Practices

  • Name snippets clearly (e.g., “Shoulder Rehab Plan” instead of “Snippet 1”)

  • Use structured formatting (bullet points, headers) for readability

  • Group related snippets using similar prefixes (e.g., “Billing - 97110”, “Billing - 97140”)

  • Keep the number of snippets under 100 for optimal performance
