Getting started

Settings & Customization

1. Access Chat Settings

Click Chat in the nav bar to open Settings.

2. Custom Chat Instructions

Add guidelines to personalize how Chat responds to you.

3. Conversation Starters

Add prompts and drag to reorder. All accessible in-feature.

4. Include Unsigned Notes

Enable in Knowledge settings to include unsigned notes.

5. Upload Reference Files

Upload PDFs to give Chat additional clinical context.

💡 Pro Tip: Your Conversation Starters are the fastest way to customize Eluve Chat for your specialty and workflow. Set them up once, and your most common requests are one click away—every time you open Chat.


Accessing Eluve Chat

1. Go to an Appointment Page

Navigate to any appointment. The patient context is tied to the appointment you have open.

2. Select a Patient

Make sure a patient is selected in the sidebar. Chat uses the selected patient's data and notes.

3. Click the Chat Icon

Click the chat icon (top right) to open the Eluve Chat panel alongside the appointment view.

⚠️ No results? Enable Unsigned Notes in Chat Settings → Knowledge.


The Ask Eluve Chat Panel

  • Chat panel opens alongside your appointment view

  • Conversation Starters appear as quick-access prompts. Top 5 appear with ability to click "More" to view all.

  • Ask anything in the text box at the bottom

  • Switch between New Chat and History to revisit past responses


Using Eluve Chat Responsibly

  • Trust but Verify: Use Chat as a second pair of eyes—not a replacement for clinical judgment. Always form your own assessment and verify sources when in doubt.

  • Review Before Use: Any summaries, reports, or data generated should be reviewed before sharing with patients or documenting in EHRs. Don't copy and paste without reading.

  • Refine Your Prompts: If output doesn't meet expectations, check your settings and refine your prompts. Be clear and concise about the results you want—examples help.

  • EHR Record-Keeping: Without EHR integration: use full patient names and select the same patient for follow-ups. Avoid initials or creating a new patient each time.

  • Beta Feedback: Eluve Chat is in beta—results may vary. Share feedback regularly, report bugs, and let us know what's working or what could be improved.
