Audio Recording

AirPods do not record patient’s words

AirPods are wonderful for listening. They are ok for recording the person wearing them (you). However, AirPods are designed not to record audio from the rest of the room. This means that if you wear AirPods, whatever your patient says will be muffled and it will severely impact the quality of the transcription.

Live transcription stops after 1 hour

When you start a session, we show a live transcription to help you get a sense if you and your patient are talking loud enough for your microphone to hear.

If your session goes over 1 hour in length, the live transcription will appear to stop. Don’t worry, we are still able to transcribe what you’re saying, but it just doesn’t show up on the screen. Once you choose “Stop and Generate Note”, your entire conversation will be processed. We’ll show you the entire transcript in about 1 minute and then generate the draft note in 1-2 minutes.

Syncing to Electronic Health Records (EHRs)

EHR syncing is only supported on Jane using a Chrome extension

If you’d like to sync to Jane, download and install the Eluve Extension in Chrome on a laptop or a desktop. This does not currently work on a phone or a tablet.

Workarounds

  • You can create the note and client recap on any device with a microphone (macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux). However, if you’d like to automatically sync that note into Jane, we currently only support Chrome.

  • You can create the notes in Eluve using your iPhone/iPad throughout the day, and then at the end of your shift sign in to Eluve on Chrome and then auto-sync the notes into Jane.

  • Over time we will support more EHRs, more browsers, and more operating systems.
